Already a great destination with unique shops, flavorful restaurants, and eclectic galleries, Peterborough pulls out the stops for this special day, with tent sales, hayrides,  live music and much more.  It’s a fall foliage tour, day-on-the-town, and early Christmas shopping opportunity all at once.

8:00-11:00am: Peterborough Fire & Rescue Open House & Pancake Breakfast, 16 Summer Street, Peterborough. Enjoy a great pancake breakfast (there is a charge), as well as activities, demonstrations, and touch-a-truck for the kids!

9:00am: The Monadnock Center for History & Culture (19 Grove Street) homemade donuts on the lawn!

10:00am-3:00pm: The Phoenix Mill House (At the Monadnock Center, 19 Grove St)  – Hearth Cooking – Explore a harvest theme menu including chicken pottage, buttered onions, and classic apple pie. Samples and recipes will be available to our Hearth Cooking Saturday visitors.

10:00am – 3:00pm: Peterborough Art Academy & Gallery (Depot Square)- Paint your own pumpkin to bring home with you.

11:00am–3:00pm: Live Music by The Folksoul Band (Depot Square). Sponsored by Depot Square.

11:00am -3:00pm: Free Hayrides, departing from Depot Square. Watch for the wagon!

11:00am: Toadstool Bookshop – Folklorist Eric Stanway will talk about his latest book, The Victorian, concerning the haunted S.K. Pierce mansion in Gardner, Mass. Featured on SyFy’s “Ghost Hunters” and the Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventurers,“ the house has become a Mecca for paranormal investigators nationwide.

12:00pm-12:00am: The Fall Ball – Contra Dancing at the Peterborough Town House

1:00pm: Paint the Music - The Monadnock Center for History & Culture and Electric Earth Concerts team up to present a participatory program with Metropolitan Museum teaching artist Nitza Horner, who brings her paints and brushes, while New Morse Code duo brings their music. Regardless of skill (or age!), all are invited to paint to the music, guided by Nitza’s expert hands. This is a FREE event. In Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center, 19 Grove St.

1:00-3:00pm: Ava Marie Handmade Chocolates and Ice Cream, Grove St and Vale. Decorate a chocolate pumpkin, $1.

5:30pm: The Monadnock Center for History & Culture(19 Grove St)  – Bass Hall – A Folkway Potluck Supper – – In advance of the Lui Collins concert (see next paragraph) a time to remember the wonderful Folkway Restaurant and Coffeehouse that graced Peterborough from 1985 – 1995. Attendance will be limited to 60 people, so registration is required. The concept is that the food you bring should be something that would have fit into the Folkway menu – which is a pretty wide range. There is no formal agenda, but we look forward to the sharing of stories and memories. For concert tickets and potluck reservations, please call the Monadnock Center at 603-924-3235.

7:30pm: Monadnock Center(19 Grove St)  Music in Bass Hall: Lui Collins Concert (advance ticket purchase recommended, online,  or call 603-924-3235)

7:30pm: Frost Heaves, the award-winning comedy show featuring Fred Marple, the Frost Heave Players and the Speed Bumps band, returns to the Peterborough Players Theatre. Tickets available at the Toadstool bookshop, and Steele’s in downtown Peterborough, online at frostheaves.com, or  by calling 603-525-3391.

ALL DAY in Depot Park: 24 Farmers Market vendors! We have 2 food vendors, jewelry, baked goods, jams and granola, sweaters, woodcrafts, pottery, coffee, glass art, 2 soap vendors, honey,   spinach pie, wool, ice cream, produce, maple syrup, dog treats and oils, cheese, breads, soups,  chilis, grilled cheese, paella, cut flowers and aprons, teas, and more! Also in Depot Square, area           non-profits will be offering great food, raffles, books, crafts, and activities for the kids!
